The Sugar Industry has been an important part of the Queensland economy since the mid-19th century. Examining the history of this industry covers several aspects of colonial history, including development of the colony of Queensland, migration of different groups to Australia, industrialisation and sustainability.
This resource is aimed at students in Years 5 and 6 and covers issues of Australian colonial history aligned with the Australian Curriculum for History, Geography and HASS.
The program reduces my planning time as I only have to plan and research for one integrated unit.
