Description

This resource gives examples of 19^th century cartoons covering a range of topics from Australian history, particularly concerning the colonies, Federation and women’s suffrage. This resource is part of the Federation series, but also designed to complement any study of issues from 19^th and early 20^th century Australian history. Short explanations and key words are provided to assist with linking the cartoon with events in Australian history.

Primarily aimed at Year 5 and 6 Australian History, this resource can be used to complement or extend students’ understanding of the events, as well as to provide contemporary perspectives.
