Henry Hudson, after whom Hudson Bay in North America is named, was an English explorer who attempted to find a sea passage through from the Atlantic to the Pacific, north of North America. He was eventually abandoned, together with his son, on the shores of Hudson Bay, after a mutiny by his crew.
