This resource (16 page colour illustrated PDF) contains a concise but comprehensive history of Asia, focussing on the major countries and regions of India, Arabia, China, Mongolia, Japan and Russia. The long-term trends and interactions are highlighted to provide context for investigations of specific events within Asian history.

The resource is designed specifically to provide background context for explorers and travellers in Asia from Alexander the Great to the 19th century, but can also be used to support any historical study of Asia or its main countries and regions.  Complemented by the Economies of Asia in History resource.
