Description
This resource examines the lives of different groups of children in Australia during the late 18th and the 19th centuries.
The resource examines Aboriginal children, convict children, settler children, children at work and children’s games. Students are encouraged to compare and contrast the lives of children in the past with their own.
The resource can help students to understand life in 18th and 19th century Australia from a perspective which they find slightly easier to identify with – that of the child. This resource is designed to complement the Year 4 and 5 Australian History curriculum.
