Description
This resource, part of our ‘Migrants’ series, traces the migrations of South African people to Australia. South Africa shares a British colonial history with Australia, which leads to many elements of a shared culture. South Africans have chosen to migrate to Australia in recent decades, largely due to escalating crime and political unrest in South Africa. They now form one of the largest groups of migrants in the country. This resource examines the reasons for these migrations, as well as which elements of culture are shared and which are distinct.
The resource aligns with Year 4, 5 and 6 Australian Curriculum History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship and HASS.
