Resource: Extinct Animals in South America

Description

This resource extends the South American Geography information of the Regions of South America and Environments of South America resources to examine environmental impact through examining the extinction of animals in South America. The factors that led to the extinction of these animals are discussed and the role of people and the environment is examined. This resource considers the Falkland Islands Wolf; the Galápagos Giant Rat; Vespucci’s Rodent; Peruvian Viscacha and the Giant Vampire Bat as case studies.
