Description

Australia is usually thought of as a hot, dry country, however there are areas with cold climates, especially in the south and at higher altitudes. This resource, part of our ‘Indigenous People’ series, examines the groups that incorporate cold climate areas into their way of life. Aboriginal people arrived in Australia during the Ice Age, when the climate was colder and drier than today. Aboriginal people have therefore adapted to hotter climates, and the cold climates are more similar to how Australia was when they arrived.

This resource aligns with Year 4, 5 and 6 Australian Curriculum History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship and HASS.
