This resource is designed to extend the information provided in the resource Modern Families Around the World. In this resource the emphasis is on different types of family structures and multiple examples are given for some countries, rather than the statistical average. Also, additional countries are added.
The resource gives examples of families from Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Chile, Botswana, Ghana, United States of America, Canada, Denmark, India and Kenya. Family structures include single parent families, nuclear families and multi-generational family structures. Sample names are provided, appropriate to the country and area given. The aim of this resource is to help students identify and compare their own families with others around the world.
